The Fredericton Christian Reformed Church seeks to be a community of believers devoted to advancing God’s Kingdom through commitment to Jesus Christ who through his life, death and resurrection brings life in all its fullness.

To fulfill our mission, we will

  • Praise God through inspiring worship.
  • Value sound, thought-provoking Biblical preaching and teaching which, based on the Reformed tradition, will stimulate, encourage and help us to grow spiritually.
  • Engage our members in various study groups and educational programs.
  • Value fellowship with one another.
  • Love and care for each others' spiritual needs and physical well-being.
  • Welcome others into our fellowship.
  • Go forth to be people of God in all walks of life bringing Christ’s healing, justice, reconciliation and joy wherever we might find ourselves.

Underlying Rationale and Principles
Each of the above components has equal value.  None is greater or lesser for all are vital to fulfilling the mission we have set before ourselves.  Yet, significance is given to the order.  Each subsequent component is necessarily grounded in the one previous for the purpose of finding its fuller expression.

Hence, we begin by highlighting the importance of praising God through worship that seeks to be inspiring so that awe and reverence is heightened.   It is God alone that we seek to praise and worship.  Awe and reverence must be grounded, however, in the revelation of God we gain through Scripture.   A clear understanding of Scripture begins with thought-provoking Biblical preaching which, based on the Reformed tradition and its historic creeds and confessions, serves to stimulate, encourage and help us grow in our Kingdom walk.  Further understanding of Scripture is enhanced through teaching done in group studies and educational programs, in which all members are encouraged to participate.  Through preaching, teaching and study we come to learn that the Church is the body of Christ.  It consists of members with different gifts, talents and abilities, and each is valued and drawn into the fellowship.  That fellowship of redeemed and renewed people reflects the love of Christ by loving and caring for each other – for one another’s spiritual needs and physical well-being.  We intend too to share the Good News of Christ’s healing power with others so God’s Kingdom may grow.  And thus we are encouraged as people of God to go forward in all walks of life to live renewed lives.
